Vets have experienced earning increases of about 4% per year

However, last year only saw increases for employed vets, while owner/partners saw a small 1% drop. This could be explained by the fear that some practices have over losing staff. With limited incomes (and falling profits) owners /  partners are sacrificing their earnings to keep the staff.

Biggest Challenges Facing the Practices

62% of vets say that the biggest challenge they faced this year has been the financial situation of their clients and practices. Also, one in five vets voice concerns over competition from other retailers.

A survey by CM Research revealed that vets consider ‘Hill’s y/d’, ‘Cardalis’ and ‘Seresto Collar’ the Best New veterinary products of 2012. Hill’s Y/D an iodine restrictive hyperthyroid management food from Hill’s Pet Nutrition – won by an overwhelming lead (31% of vets).
