Compulsory microchipping – a good idea just in theory?

A recent survey by CM Research found that out of 195 vets, 86% agree that compulsory microchipping of dogs is a good idea (Fig.1). The new law will be effective in England from April 2016 and will require all dog owners to comply or face fines.

While enthusiasm of the majority is quite apparent, over a third of our respondents voice their concerns over regulation, monitoring and enforcement of the new Government plans and see it as a difficult challenge to face.
